    Magformers Successfully Participates in 2014 International Congress of Mathematicians



    Global Infant and Toddler Education Culture • Specialized Distributor Gymboree Korea, Gymworld Inc. (CEO Keeyoung Park), announced that it will present Magformers to mathematicians from over 100 countries at the 2014 International Congress of Mathematicians, which will be held at COEX in Samsung-dong, Seoul for 8 days from August 13th through the 20th.



    The International Congress of Mathematicians opens every four years and has a 116-year-long history. It is expected that over 5,000 mathematicians from over 100 countries worldwide will participate. This year’s Seoul ICM 2014 will gather the best mathematicians and related personnel and encourage research with a view towards the future.



    Magformers has reached over 600,000 sets in accumulated sales volume in Korea and benchmarked itself as Korea’s representative world class 3D magnetic educational tool. It increases understanding regarding model figures and helps children understand basic mathematical concepts while making 2D shapes into 3D figures as well. In 2012 and 2013, Magformers earned “Platinum” and “Gold Seal,” awards, respectively, from the world's most prestigious consumer assessment agency “Oppenheim Toy Portfolio’s”. In 2014, it earned the “2014 Academic Choice Brain Toy Award,” thereby displaying that Gymboree products are renowned not just domestically, but worldwide, for their educational effects and creativity.


    Through this year’s Seoul ICM 2014, Gymboree Korea plans to provide visitors with a chance to experience Magformers for themselves, and spread the word about the educational effects of Magformers worldwide. They are currently being used in over 300 schools in Korea.


    Gymboree Korea said, “We consider it a great honor to be able to participate and contribute in an authoritative math competition, and we hope to be recognized globally, not just domestically, for our educational Magformers product. We will spare no research and development in this area.”
